We hope to see you for our Shavuot Service, dairy dinner, and “Let My People Know!” program on Saturday, May 26, starting with 5:00 PM Mincha. The program is in cooperation with Temple Beth Kodesh and is being financed partly by Rabbi Simon, Rabbi Shub, and The Synagogue Institute of the Jewish Federation. Please call the office to make reservations by Monday, May 21, 2012.

Reserve early for a delicious dairy dinner, catered by Diamond. The menu will be Tilapia, rice pilaf, blintzes, and wine.

$7.00 per Temple member
$14.00 per non-member

Shavout morning Services will be at 9:00 am, Sunday and Monday, May 27 & 28; Yizkor will be said during the Monday Service.

Scout Shabbat Awards

Temple Beth Tikvah is proud to have hosted a Scout Shabbat award ceremony to present awards to these young men. The photo pictures in the back row John Halpern, Chairman, Jewish Committee on Scouting for the Gulf Stream Council. The scouts are left to right in front Bernard Scott, Noah Wilfond, Joshua Wilfond, Matthew Grabasch, Maxwell Wilfond.

Congratulations to all these fine young people who represent the best in scouting and Judaism.

Sisterhood Strawberry Festival

The TBT Sisterhood Strawberry Festival held on May 9 was a great success.

Sisterhood Preparing for the Strawberry Festival

The festival event was the final Sisterhood meeting of the season and welcomed new and prospective members. The attendees enjoyed delicious desserts including strawberry shortcake, a chocolate fountain and lots of goodies.

The event was free to Sisterhood and prospective members and included door prizes.

Zip Code Party

The Membership Committee will host a zip code party for members and non-members on October 28, 2012; you will be sitting with others who share your zip code. Meet your neighbors and enjoy dinner and entertainment. We will need at least 50 attendees to hold the event; additional details to come.

The Shlomo Geva Klezmer Band

Final presentation of this season’s Cultural Series – The Shlomo Geva Klezmer Band will be celebrating Israel’s independence on Sunday, May 6, at 2 pm. Enjoy Yiddishkeit through Yiddish and Hebrew music! The cost is $6.00 per Temple member and $12.00 per non-member, pay at the door.

TBT Now Forming Havurah Groups

Temple Beth Tikvah is now forming Havurah groups! Havurot are small groups consisting of people in similar life situations or with common interests. Members often meet in homes and gather to enjoy a little nosh, discussion, and activities.

The group you make will evolve into what you want it to be. Sometimes, Havurot groups meet for a Shabbat dinner or share holiday celebrations. We will group people according to what they are interested in. Havurot with younger children often alternate family activities.

We welcome new members to the Temple. If you have a friend who is thinking about joining a Temple and would like to meet people first, invite them to join one of your Havurot groups.

Please review your Havurah flyers and complete its form. If you would like to be in a Havurot group with other specific TBT members, please identify them on your form; please note, matches must be mutually requested.
